REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: AIRBAG SYSTEM: PRECAUTION (2008 Sequoia) .

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH (for 14 Speakers) DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

5. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

7. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

Confirm that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

(a) Slide the outer housing and disconnect the airbag connector.

(b) Remove the bolt.

(c) Disengage the guide and remove the side airbag sensor.
